Messenger House
Messenger House is a four bedded, adult male and female, house situated in Smethwick catering for people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorders with emphasis on recovery and community reintegration. It is located half a mile away from Smethwick and Capehill shopping centers. It is located close to local amenities as well as close to public transport links, both buses and trains.
It operates as an open house, focusing on resettlement and transitioning people back into the community. In this part of the pathway, service users will be focusing on reintegration into the society and get used to the complexities of taking part in community activities. The core therapies and supportive activities are therefore concentrated on two days, leaving five days for community-based work. The care package will be composed of co-working with service users on independent living skills; ‘12-Activities of Daily Living.’
All rooms fully furnished to a high standard, with a beautiful garden, which provides an active therapeutic community-based environment.
