We provide expert care for people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders
Hickam Healthcare, a CQC registered unit, specialises in residential care for people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders, who require 24 hour support. The team works in collaboration with the community teams, local councils and commissioning groups, which seeks to balance the principles of empowerment, sound risk management, respect, privacy and dignity, to support positive and safe outcomes for service users, staff, families and the general public.
The philosophy of care is to provide unconditional care where service users need to be treated with dignity, respect, kindness, empathy and compassion, grounded in a therapeutic community-based approach.
Staff attitude is one of caring, courageous, compassion, kindness and commits to carry out daily duties, especially in situations where service users display problem behaviors. Therefore, our staff are aware that when a person is friendly and calm, it is easy to demonstrate kindness, caring and compassion, although in some cases it is more of a challenge. However, on Messenger House, we want to rise to that challenge.
We are a CQC registered unit helping adults with learning disabilities and autism.
All our services are driven by our in-house teams.
